Volunteer
All volunteers will be asked to undergo a 3-4 hour orientation at Colorado Adventure Point. Volunteers need to be registered members of Scouting America ($25/fee), pass a background check, and will need to take the Safe Guarding Youth training (90 minute online training).
Merit Badge Counselor (teach a merit badge class at CAP every 1-3 months)
- This will typically be a 4–8-hour volunteer day to teach the class as well as a couple hours of prep to get ready to teach.
Summer Camp/Field Trip/STEM Kit Leader
- This volunteer experience can be anywhere from 1-8 hour day. Responsibilities include being a volunteer helper to run CAP Programs.
Guest Expert (1-9x summer/winter day camp for 1-3 hours each time)
- This would be a student or “expert” in a topic come in to share their projects/insight on a STEM or Technology related topic during our day camps. This visit could include show and tell-type demonstrations or leading the group through an activity.
Weekly Facility Care Volunteer (someone who could come in weekly/a couple of times a month to help care for the facility)
- Tasks can include fish tank care, turtle tank care, hydroponics care
Project Days (1x volunteer to do projects at CAP)
- We can put together service projects days to help tackle big projects including STEM Kit repairs and facility maintenance before/after summer
